Zhang Changmin is a Professor in Yangtze University, he obtained his BS in 1984 from Jianghan Petroleum University and Ph.D. in 1993 from the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development of China (RIPED). He served as the Director of Geological Department (2015~2018) and the Vice President of Jianghan Petroleum University (1998~2003), the First President of Yangtze University (2003~2014), and the Deputy Director of the Agriculture and Industry Commission of Hubei Provincial People's Congress (2014~2914). Changmin is mainly in teaching and research of clastic sedimentology and petroleum exploration and development. He proposed new sedimentary models for fluvial, deltaic, tidal deposits and published the first DFS book at home and abroad. His Hierarchical Reservoir Analysis (HRA,1992) was pioneered and was widely used for oil sand architectural anatomy. He introduced Tim Cross’s high-resolution sequence stratigraphy to subsurface geological description of Chinese high water cut oil fields. Changmin lead a Remaining Resource Research Group(3RG) in YU and they created a series of algorithms and software suitable for nonmarine reservoir modeling in China. Zhang Changmin Studio (since 2015) has been established at the Xinjiang Oilfield Exploration and Development Research Institute about 10 years which is the first personal research Lab. for scholars for other institutes.
