Prof. Armstrong-Altrin is an Indian. He is a Professor Investigator at National Autonomous University of Mexico. He received his bachelor and master degree from Madurai Kamaraj University (India) in 1989 and 1991, respectively, and PhD from University of Madras (India) in 1999. He then moved to National Autonomous University of Mexico to work as a post-doctor in 2002-2004, and worked there ever since.

Prof. Armstrong-Altrin is mainly engaged in siliciclastic sedimentology. He teaches courses of Sedimentology, Sedimentary Environments, and Investigation Methods. Prof. Markus has published more than 110 academic papers, 2 books and 3 book chapters. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Indian Association of Sedimentologists, and Associate Editor of Sedimentary Geology, Journal of Palaeogeography, Geological Journal, Arabian Journal of Geosciences, and Carpathian Journal of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
