Ihsan Al-Aasm
Prof. Ihsan Al-Aasm is a professor from School of the Environment of University of Windsor. He graduated from the University of Baghdad in Iraq with a bachelor's degree in 1974 and a master's degree in 1977.He received his PhD from the University of Ottawa, Canada in 1985. From 2009 to 2012, he was a Visiting Professor at Petroleum Institute-Abu Dhabi.
Prof. Ihsan Al-Aasm’s research focuses on dolomite diagenesis, reservoir characteristics, reservoir dolomitization, reservoir evaluation, mineralogy and geochemistry, and carbonate reservoir evaluation. Prof. Ihsan Al-Aasm is a member of the Society of Sedimentary Geology (SEPM), the Geological Association of Canada (GAC), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geology, the International Association of Sedimentologists (IAS), and the International Society of Palaeogeography. Over the past 32 years, he has received more than $4.8 million in grants and contracts from the federal government, provincial and private companies.
