Matthias Alberti

Prof. Matthias Alberti is Germany. He is a professor at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel. He received his bachelor degree from Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg in 2004, master degree from University of the Free State in 2005, and PhD from Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg in 2008.

Prof. Matthias Alberti was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship in 2016, Poster Award of the 9th International Congress of Jurassic Systems in 2014; The German Research Foundation Bernd Rendel Award in 2013, the "Young Paleontologist Award" (third place) in 2012, and the "Best Paper Award" awarded to a young researcher from Humboldt University for the best presentation in 2011, who received a grant from the German Academic Exchange Service Program to study at a German university for two semesters in 2005. He has published 64 publications (including 56 peer-reviewed articles in international journals). His H-index is16 and his i10-index is 30.

Longyi Shao

Longyi Shao is a Professor of geology at School of Geoscience and Surveying Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing). He has obtained his PhD at China University of Mining and Technology in 1989, majoring in Coal Field, Oil and Gas Geology and Exploration.

He research interests include lithofacies palaeogeography, sedimentology and coal geology of Chinese coal basins as well coal-related environmental geology. He is currently serving as a member of the Geological Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, Vice Chair of the Lithofacies Paleogeography Professional Committee of the Chinese Mineral and Rock Geochemistry Society, Vice Chair of the Nano-geology Professional Committee of the China Geological Society, Deputy Secretary General of the Sedimentary Geology Professional Committee of the China Geological Society, member of the Coalbed Methane Professional Committee of the China Coal Society, member of the Standardization Technical Committee for Coalbed Methane in the Energy Industry, and standing member of the Geological Society of Beijing;

He is acting as editorial board members of a number of Chinese journals including Science China Earth Science, Acta Geologica Sinica (2013-2019), Geological Review, Geoscience Frontiers (Chinese version), Acta Sedimentologica Sinica, Petroleum Exploration and Development, Journal of Mining Science and Technology, Coal Science and Technology, Coal Geology & Exploration, and Coal Geology of China, and deputy editor-in-chief of Journal of Palaeogeography (Chinese version). He also serves as members of international journals, including members of Journal of Palaeogeography (English) and Atmosphere, as well as co editor-in-chief of Journal of Sedimentary Environments. He has published 16 monographs and over 500 papers, including 150 international papers in SCI-indexed journals, with an H-index of 47.

Yuan Wang

Yuan Wang holds an M.S. in Mineral Prospecting and Exploration and a B.S. in Reservoir Engineering. She studied at the Chengdu University of Technology, Chengdu and China University of Petroleum (Beijing), having a three-years’ work experience at Sinopec Northwest China Petroleum Bureau, where she holds the position of technical responsibility. She worked at the Editorial Office of Journal of Palaeogeography (Chinese Editon) during 2002-2012 where she holds the position of both scientific editor and an English editor. Yuan Wang joined the Editorial Office of Journal of Palaeogeography (English Edition) as the Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Office responsible for routine journal managing work since the launching of the Journal and becomes the Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Editorial Committee since 2019. She joins most preparation work of the International Society of Palaeogeography (ISP) and attended the First Founding Conference and Council Member Meeting in 2022. Her main research interests include seismic sedimentology based on combination of geological and seismic data, basin analysis, application of geophysical methods in exploration for prediction of hydrocarbons. Her publications involve in sedimentology, basin analysis etc.

Xiujuan Zheng

Prof. Carlos Zavala is both Argentine and Italian. He received his bachelor degree from Universidad Nacional del Sur, Argentina in 1987 and PhD from the same university in 1993. From 1994 to 1996, he worked as a post-doctor in the University of Parma, Italy. Since 1992, he has been working as an assistant professor in the Universidad Nacional del Sur. In addition, he also works as a senior researcher of CONICET (Consejo de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas, Argentina), Consulting geologist in sedimentology at GEOIL – PDVSA, Senior Geologist / President of GCS of Argentina and Scientific Consultant of PetroChina Company Limited.

His research is focused on sediment gravity flow and hyperpycnal flow deposits in marine and lacustrine basins. He is a member of several academic societies, including the Society for Sedimentary Geology, International Association of Sedimentologists, Geological Society of America, American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and Asociación Geológica Argentina. He has published over 80 journal papers and chapters in books Xiujuan Zheng.
