The Journal of Palaeogeography (English Version) sponsored by the International Society of Palaeogeography has been selected as one of the “The Excellent International Impact Academic Journals of China”(TOP5%-10%), in the list of "China's Most Influential International Academic Journals " (TOP5%) and "The Excellent International Impact Academic Journals of China" (TOP5%-10%) in 2022.

CNKI and Tsinghua University Library have jointly developed the Annual Report of International Citation of Chinese Academic Journals for 11 years in succession. According to the total frequency of international citations, the impact factor of international citations, the journal impact index (CI) and other indicators of Chinese academic journals, the top 10% of academic journals have been selected as the “China's International Influential Brand Journals” (or TOP journals) based on the CI ranking, on the condition that the total frequency of international citations and the ranking of the impact factor of international citations are both in the top 20%.

The statistical sources used in the 2022 International Annual Report include international journals, conference papers, books, etc., among which there were 23,438 international statistical sources,along with 21,879 journals included in WoS. Based on the above selection method, 350 science and technology TOP journals were selected in 2022, of which 175 science and technology journals with the top 5% CI ranking were "China's most Internationally Influential Academic Journals"; 175 science and technology journals ranked in TOP5%~10% were "The Excellent International Impact Academic Journals of China". Among these 175 journals, Journal of Palaeogeography(English Edition) ranked 93rd.

It is noted that Journal of Paleogeography(English Edition) has won the title for years in a row.
